Compact, efficient and award-winning!: The S-force fans manufactured in St. Georgen have been awarded the "Electronic Oscar"
With its powerful and compact S-Force 5300 fans ebm-papst St. Georgen launched a series onto the market in 2008. This series provides the ideal solution above all for applications that not only have a high air requirement with simultaneous high counterpressure - but also limited space for integrating the fan.
Typical examples are the extremely compact ATCA devices for telecommunication purposes, servers and industrial applications, e.g. welding inverters. In the meantime, the high-performance fans have not only convinced this circle of users but they have also received due acknowledgement from specialist circles: At the Electronica, the International Electrical Components Exhibition, the S-force fan received the Elektra Award 2008, in the category "Passive & Electromechanical Product of the Year".
The award that is regarded as the Oscar of the electronic industry has been awarded for six years now to companies that fulfil the highest technical standards and promote industrial development with their innovations. With their new, electronically commutated multi-pole external rotor motor, S-force fans achieve a high operating efficiency of 85% and despite the compact dimensions of 140 x 140 x 51 mm, an airflow performance of 670 m³/h and a pressure up to 1400 Pa - it is therefore not surprising that the S-force fans impressed the jury. Long-life ball bearings and sophisticated internal air cooling ensure a service life of approx. 70.000 operating hours. Remarkable features also include a wide variety of control and monitoring functions that enable the compact fans to be adapted individually to the respective application.
